Keron Campbell - Assistant Botanist

Keron
Campbell is the Assistant Botanist in the Natural History
Division at the Institute of Jamaica. He is currently pursuing a
Masters of Science (M.Sc.) in Natural Resource Management at the
University of the West Indies (Mona) with a schedule date of
completion in 2005. He has completed a Bachelor’s degree with
honours at UWI (Mona), majoring in the field of Botany and a
minor in Zoology.
Presently he is the Research Officer for the
Endemic Trees of Jamaica Project that was funded by the
Environmental Foundation of Jamaica. This two year project is
scheduled for completion in 2006. Mr. Campbell is also one of
the understudies of the renowned Dr. George R. Proctor who
serves as a Consultant Botanist at the Institute of Jamaica.
Keron presented a poster on the Institute of Jamaica Herbarium
at the New York Botanical Gardens in 2000 at the Symposium:
Flora of the Greater Antilles.
Mr. Keron Campbell was appointed as Assistant
Botanist in the Natural History Division since 2000 where he
focuses on management of the National Collection of plant
specimens housed in the IJ Herbarium.
